Resume

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in May 2013. During my time on campus I took part in two separate classes that allowed me to get out into the Eau Claire community and do "real" journalism, not just classroom exercises.

I spent my entire senior year working for iHeart Media in Eau Claire. In my time there, I have performed a variety of functions ranging from producing a network sports broadcast to co-hosting and producing a local sports talk radio show. Eventually, I did some basketball play-by-play and color commentary as well.

I also spent a couple months working on the production team at WQOW News 18. I worked as an audio operator for the evening news casts, before switching to the Daybreak team, the weekday morning program.

I eventually switched from the broadcast side to the newspaper business when I became the editor of two small weekly papers. It was during this time I honed my time management skills, as well as my writing and photography abilities. I covered stories that ranged from local politics, schools, sports and other breaking events. I had the opportunity to interview Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker twice and cover and participate in a DNR-sponsored mock wild fire, among many other experiences.

I have learned many things from each position I've held. I was able to work with and under the tutelage of Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation Hall of Fame member Mike Sullivan, who taught me a great deal about tempo and detail during a radio broadcast.
