Augusta teen sounds the alarm for weather siren

​Synopsis

Lake Eau Claire is located in a rural area, about 10 miles north of the small city of Augusta, Wisconsin. Unforunately for the residents of the area, the closest emergency weather siren is located in the city. A 16-year-old Girl Scout pursued a Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can earn, by leading the efforts to install a siren near the Lake.

Tighter security makes Eau Claire elementary schools safer

Synopsis

In the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, many school districts around the country worked to tighten their security measures. The Eau Claire Area School District (ECASD) is no different. While the new measures initially caused parents and visitors some inconveniences, there has been an overwhelming sense of understanding.
